Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has included a new module – rental management. The solution is aimed at companies whose main business is the rental of fixed assets such as machinery and equipment. The new module allows for verification of the availability of fixed assets, control the status of lease contracts, and also gives insight into the utilization and profitability of individual devices. The solution also supports the management of contracts, extension of the lease and the management of sales of ancillary services relating to the leased equipment such as the delivery of spare parts, consumables or maintenance.
The main functionality provided by the new module include:
- Rental Item Workbench to quickly view the status and location of rental items, and contracts associated with items
- Depreciation expense allocation to the customer business unit
- Rental billing (recurring and one-off)
- Inbound receipt routing to handle item return and disposition of items
- Inventory item transfer to customer from different business units
In addition, Oracle has released a set of reports for Rental Management module implemented with an analytical tool OneView Reporting. The main objective of the report is to provide information on the profitability of customers, contacts, equipment and the use of the leased assets.
