During Collaborate 2014 session in Las Vegas, Oracle presented a new functionality to support planner work in JD Edwards. The solution, featuring the outstandingly efficient Oracle Engineered Systems platform and in-memory data processing technology, offers real time view of data required for successful supply and demand planning.
The presented application offers interactive and visual analysis of important planning information, enabling planners to take better and quicker decisions about materials purchased and products manufactured. The solution consists of two main components based on existing MRP planning, where static data views were transformed into dynamic real-time cockpits:
Planning Advisor Summary – allowing planners to view collected information on SKU level, such as current stock balances, planned supplies, safety stock and lead Times.
In-Memory Planning Advisor Console – presents the effect of such factors as delivery dates, ordered quantities, or cancelling deliveries for supply and demand balancing.
“To deal with the challenges of today’s global economy, organizations need real-time visibility into the changes in their supply and demand planning process,” said Lyle Ekdahl, senior vice president general manager, Oracle’s JD Edwards. “By taking advantage of the extreme performance of Oracle Engineered Systems, Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Planning Advisor allows customers to transform their supply planning by providing unparalleled visibility into the key components of the planning process. This enables organizations to make faster, better decisions that positively impact their bottom line.”
